Interpreting Natural Form Into Clay Sculptures

It was during 2002-2003 that I studied my Access Art and Design Diploma and this was when I began to explore the term ‘Natural Form’. I developed this concept through the diploma and explored a great deal of mediums, including:

drawing, photography, ceramics, textiles, lino printing, etching,silk screen, painting

It was from this starting point that my collection of mixed media paintings ‘Landscape Moods’ began, from which I have never looked back.

I wanted to share some of my work in the medium of ceramics and how the exploration of different types of construction or techniques on creating each piece looked when finished.

The starting point of Litchen and Bark which was the starting point for this self-directed project in 2003, which is shown below:
